Job Description
Information and Database Architect – NYC - $$ + Equity
The Information and Database Architect, for a well funded startup, is responsible for information architecture, databases, data warehouse, infrastructure, and implementation of a unique eCommerce platform for high-visibility global community. Collaborate with team leads and clients to appropriately translate functional needs into information and database requirements. Demonstrate the ability to influence technology teams (as part of an Agile team) and provide management-level feedback into project planning, procurement, training, and solutions architecture. This position is located in New York, NY.
Qualification:
- 5+ years of experience as a data architect for large scale systems, solutions architecture, addressing complex database (Oracle) and data warehouse challenges
- Extensive knowledge with large data warehouse engineering, ETL, performance, and large databases (scalability and high availability)
- Provide recommendations regarding alternative use of features, data model optimizations, alternative design approaches, and DB monitoring for Oracle 10g and 11g
- Experience working with application, development, and DBA, provides recommendations regarding Oracle DB architecture, implementation, release, and overall DB improvements
- Experience with .Net Web development technologies, tools, and frameworks
- Experience with 4th Generation Languages, Model Driven Development (MDD), RAD, code generators, and operating platforms
- Experience with integrating QA and data quality processes into all aspects of the software development life-cycle
- BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
- Understanding of Web hosting options and tradeoffs
- Involvement with social networking development, understanding APIs, cross platforms communications, Web services, and portal strategies
- Experience with enterprise architecture development and standards
- Experience in integrating software applications with infrastructure components, including work flow engine, messaging middleware, search engine, or SSO middleware
- Experience with configuring various systems, including application servers, database management systems, operating systems, or network devices
- Knowledge of a variety of infrastructure or network technologies
- Ability to develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and estimate Level of Work (LOE)
